Gauges on '06 models

Are the gauges on the '06 models REAL GAUGES or are they just idiot lights like on my '91 Ford?

reading the discription in the 06 service manual, the cooling water temp gauge is real [but dampened], the lube oil pressure gauge is still BS.

Grrr... . I hate idiot gauges. Wonder if it would be possible to get the oil pressure gauge working right without having to tear up the dash.

I wonder that too however the guages are run by the ECM.

with an actual pressure transducer mounted to the main gallery and some ecm reprograming it could be done. . but that isn't ever going to happen through DC... their 2 position pressure switch costs like $10-15... a good quality pressure transducer can be 10x that price. . might need to be rewired to the ecm also... pretty much all OEM type pressure transducers are 3 wire [5vdc, 0vdc, signal (0. 5-4. 5vdc)], and i am 90% sure our pressure switch is 2 wire
