Warming up my truck?

I will probably never tow anything over 1000lbs. with my truck. I will from time to time have about a ton of oilfield equip. in the bed.

I am thinking I will be fine with boost and EGT gauges. In the future I only plan on adding an Edge EZ to what I already have and exhaust. So should I go with 1 gauge with EGT and boost. Or should i purchase 2 separate gauges. I also really like the S. P. A. digital. I just ran a search and could not find anything to help me make up my mind. I will probably use the bullet mount and put under dash on my left by the the hood release or the brake release.

Any suggestions or a particular brand with flaws not to use will be greatly appreciated

I have an Isspro EGT gauge, white, with blue lighting ($120). Looks great with my stock white gauges. I mounted mine on the A pillar. Geno's sells a single gauge pod for the A pillar. I love it and Isspro is a well build gauge (Company started by making gauges for boats)... Talk about impact and durability considerations.

I originally wanted the S. P. A guage but it was way too expensive. I liked the concept of two gauges in one, but also discovered that digital gauges are not very intuitive. I can see and interpret my analogue guage through my peripheral vision or just a glance at the gauge. With a digital gauge you need to look directly at the gauge and process what that number means.

An analogue gauge also gives me a more intuitive idea of the rate at which temps are rising or falling. Its much harder to determine the rate on a digital guage. The lighting at night on digital gauges are harder on my eyes too.

how does the blue backlight look with the stock green backlit gauges? personal preference?

or do the iss just flat-out look cool?

thanks

I like my Di Pricol gauges on the A-pillar mount from Geno's. The gauges match the factory ones and the pod is moulded in the same color as the truck interior.

very slick dean!

i've been tossing back and forth between the iss and di-pri. i like the faces on the iss, but i'm not sure about the blue night illumination?

i haven't seen a pic of the blue iss' illuminated at night

My Method

I decided to go with all Isspro gauges, and all black-face. I figured that since the entire factory dash is white face, I should get black face aftermarkets, in case later on my tastes change and I decide I hate white facers... then I have plenty of black face to watch instead. :)

I like Isspro because they've given me some outstanding customer service in the past.

Your Garmin Street Pilot III isn't bad either! I prefer mine to whatever is in Connie's Honda Pilot. Lot cheaper too! In fact, when I drive her car, I use the Garmin and leave the other one shut off. Go figure.

I like the blue light. It looks way cool and goes with my aftermarket stereo. It sits high enough from the stock guages not to clash with the green. The numbers and dashes on the Isso light up along with the needle.

Westach 2 in 1

I have the Westach 2 in 1 in a column mount and have been happy with it.
