Finally getting around to putting gauges in, my question is where is the best place to enter the cab through the fire wall and best source to pick up power for lighting? Please,I know this has probably been talked up extensively but hey I am a slow starter.
Lots of guys route their wires through the rubber boot around the steering shaft. I drilled a hole, routed my wires through it, then siliconed it up. No worries for me.
For power taps, I tapped into my battery and then installed an inline fuse.
there is a rubber plug pressed into the fire wall near the brake master cylinder push a ice pick through it to puncture it,a little wd40 on the area when you pop the wires througt it seals up tight also. if your going to use a pillar mount and have the over head compass thing and cab marker lights the wires are there, along the apillar just tap into them. if so i can let you know there colors its been a wile and i forgot but can get you the colors tommorow. good luck CFowler
Just my $. 02, but I used my clearance light wire and it kept roasting my headlight switch. Of course, it took $500 for a 5 star steeler to tell me that. .
