I want to get a set of gauges and was thinking about Di Pricol's. but after reading about the night time lighting issues now I am all screwed up :{ What other brands are you guys using and can you post some night time pics so I can get an idea of what I am looking at. Those photos of the DP's I can't even see the needle. Thanks guys... John

I like the Dipricol gauges, it's hard to take night pics, I will update mine as soon as I get the second set of wires hooked up on the pyro, someone else said it was good after they did.

I believe Geno's Garage catalog has a picture of the Isspro, DiPricol, and one other gauge lite up at night. And if I remember right the order they are listed under the picture is off, but a quick search will find the post with the correct order on here.

I hope they aren't off since i just ordered a set of the di-pricol's from geno's (pyro, boost, fuel pressure) I know they are the same gauges that are in CAT equipment and they are BRIGHT in the loaders we have at work That is why i got them.

I have Pyro & Boost gauges by Autolite (Ultra Lites) while i like their looks they are definitely hard to read at night. My fuel pressure gauge is by Di Pricol and it doesn't look as good during the day but you can sure read it easy at night. So my obvious choice is Di Pricol as you buy the gauges for a purpose and being able to read them is a requirement. BTW, if you get a fuel pressure gauge get something over 15#'s.

If you hook them up the right way the first time they are very nice. You acually have two options: 1) hook the light up to the dimmer switch and the will match your stock dash lights. or 2) hook them up to the clearance lights(if you have them) or another constant 12v supply off of the headlight switch.

I have a pic of my gauges at night and they look great now that I have the EGT wired correctly. They also match the stock gauges great.

Hope this helps?

Awhile back the DePic guages were falling apart. The big ugly white button was falling off. Maybe they fixed them i dont know. I went with Westach, Aircraft quality. TDR mag issue 34 had a real good comparsion of the guages available>

I have DiPricols and have had them about 7 months or so. I have never had any problems with the gages. The night lighting is better on the boost gagae than the Pyro (I have day and night pictures in my readers rig gallery at left)

I have been happy with mine. I know someone who has Autometer, they look pretty good and honestly the pyro is a little faster responding. In my opinion, thought, they don't look as good at night.

j ash i just put new gauges on an apillar and i used the new isspro and i even wired them in my dimmer switch they are nice,if u put the green boots over the bulbs they match your factory gauges.

Ok then, I give up. Hey Cryotek, are you saying that you should hook up to the orange/white dimmer wire? Is that the right way? I don't have clearance light so I guess thats out. .

Decisions, Decisions. I've have not done an install yet and I'm resarching the same thing.

The only other thing I've heard is the Diprocol's need some modification if you use them in the pod that goes over the rear view mirror.

I have SPA boost/pyro combo set in an SRT-10 A piller. The gauges are digital and they are really sensitive. They are back lit and it is adjustable. I have mine adjusted so that you can see them at night and they don't appear to be on during the day. I have no trouble reading the guages at any time. They are very accurate.

for 2004 and up models: orange wire with brwon strip. It is #2 on the back of the Head light/dimmer switch wiring harness

for 2003 orange wire with white stripe. pin #3 on the wiring harness

Dont get Isspros, they look cool, match the factory guages well, but they arent relaible, the pyro amp is always a problem, and so is the fuel pressure isolator. I have had bad luck with SPA,the company is difficult to get parts/service from and often on "holiday" 1/2 the yr. Ive had real good luck with the Westachs ive never had a single problem wit htem exc one light bulb, which is nothing, very high quality. Now if they could make me a combo guage with a 75psi boost guage id buy one in a second.
