I am another new member to TDR and this is my first post. I have a 2001 SB 2500TD QC, auto with 3. 55 rear end. I bought the truck new to pull a 29' Golden Falcon - gvwr 9,800lb. My plan is to eventually install DTT tc & vb and exhaust brake. First I want to install EGT, trans. temp and possibly a boost or fuel pressure gauge these will be mounted on the "A" pillar.
Question - anyone care to recommend one make over another? I would like something that matches the factory instrument panel. Are these gauges fairly straightforward to install? About how much time should it take qualified person to do?
Thanks,

Welcome to the TDR. Do a search on this topic. Many good points about this. I personally have Banks gauges. They work great for me. Autometer has a set that matches pretty close to the instrument cluster. Not to hard to install if you are somewhat savy. Have fun! #ad

I have the westach gauges that i bought from genos,in the latest issue of the TDR. It looks good with the stock dash. welcome to the TDR site!

I have the SPA dual digital. It looks nothing like the factory gauges, but I really like it. Only one gauge for boost and pyro, and you can read it.

I just had ISSPRO Boose & Pyro gauges installed on a pillar. They look terrific. You can even have the pillar painted to match your interior. I simply went with the black, and saved $50. Had my installed along with some other performance enhancements for $217.

I installed banks guages, a pyro and a boost. I liked banks, they match the stock guages. Both are installed on the piller. Pillers come in black, with 1,2,and 3 gauge pods. you can by a can of spray paint from your dealer to paint the piller to match your interior. I drilled 3/4" hole in the fire wall next to the clutch pedal and installed a rubber grommet to feed the wires and tubing through. The hard part is drilling the 7/16" hole in the exhaust manifold for installation of the prob. Make sure to keep all chips out of the exhaust manifold. There's a 3/4' pipe plug in the intake manifold towards the rear of the engine, remome it . Install a 3/4' X 1/8' reducer. Install boost gauge fitting. (Check out DIESEL INJECTION SERVICE web page for guages and installation info) To feed the wires up to the piller it's easer to take the dash off and pull out the headlight switch. Just grab the dash and pull it comes off real easy. The stock piller also comes off the same way, just hold on and pull it stright towards you. Took me about 4 hours to install both guages. HAVE FUN!!!

They don't look anything like stock and they are expensive. But they are easy to install and have a few functions that are really great. Such as peak hold and flashing lights that get your attention at a preset level. I installed mine completly in about 4 hours.
