Best place to install pyro sending unit . Pre or Post Turbo?

Best place to install Trans Temp sending unit. Trans pan or cooling line?

2001 3500 Auto 4" turbo back and K&N. Air Lift bags etc. Rig is set up for 11. 6 Lance Camper and 17' boat.

Thanks in advance for the info.

Hermann, welcome to the TDR.

Put the pyro probe in preturbo, it will respond quicker and will tell you more closely what the temp is in the cylinders is to prevent damage.

Put the trans temp sender in the line to the cooler, that is the hottest place you can put a sender and it will warn you when the temps start to get too high rather than after they are too high.

Hope this helps.

Hermann:

Not LSmith but you can get the line from the dodge dealer. It is off of a 95 if I recall. I just picked one up a week or so ago. Just waiting for the weather to warm up a little to install. The part number is 05011244AA. Remember to remove the check ball out of it.

Barry is right, the dealer will have one. You could also call DTT and see what they charge, I am betting that they will be cheaper than the dealer.

I have heard that the hot line from the late model snow plow prep package is larger in diameter for better flow than the 94-95 model and has the port in it, can anyone confirm or refute this?
