I am ready to order a set of auto-meter gauges but undecided between the sport comp and Z series. I am leaning towards the Z series, only because they offer a boost gauge that is 0-60 psi. Then again, does that make any difference or is 0-30 psi ok? Who else has these gauges and are you happy with them? Appreciate all comments.

Thanks
Bill

Autometer makes a 0-35 and a 0-60 psi boost gauge in Sport Comp, Ultra-Lite, Carbon Fiber and Phantom series gauges, not just the "Z" series which by the way is considered there "Budget" line. Call Autometer direct at 815-895-8141 and ask for specific part numbers. Or call www.jannettyracing.com, they stock most of those gauges.

Forgot to mention. If your truck is mostly stock the 0-35 PSI is fine. I have a 4" exhaust and the Psychotty kit and i never go over 20PSI on my 0-35psi Sport Comp boost gauge. I know the aftermarket performance "boxes" raise the boost levels, but i dont know how high with which box so ill let some other TDR members answer that question.

I just found out summit raceing blows everyone away in price for the Autometers.

If you're going to leave your truck bone stock, then the 30psi is just fine. *BUT* If you want to add some modification down the road, then the 30psi gauge is going to be useless to you. No sense in spending money twice eventually.

I agree with MikeR. UnBOMBed and planning to stay that way, 30 psi's will be about 10 more than you need. BOMBed is a different story. My DiPricol boost gauge goes to 60, a little bit of overkill as I never go above 40 psi's at WOT (and don't want to !!!). 40 psi's in my truck means I'm in warp drive, and EVERYTIME I see that number I cross alot of body parts while praying that the HX40 doesn't do a bad Elvis immpersonation and then die.

Ditto on Summits pricing. A word of advice, know your part numbers before calling Summit. Call Autometer direct at 815-895-8141 and talk to them about EXACTLY what you want (Style, Bezel finish, range, etc) THEN call Summit and order. Also, the boost gauge i have is 0-35PSI, not 0-30. The only boost gauges i have seen in Autometers Sport Comp, Ultra-lite, Phantom and Carbon fiber series are 0-20PSI, 0-35PSI and 0-60PSI.

<font color=blue>There is a 0 to 50 PSI available too. Its a custom gauge tho so you won't find it in any catalog. Heres a picture of just the gauge.....

You can get this from JRE, Ted graciously helped out when this gauge was built for a few of us (including himself).

Forgot about the 50PSI. I got my 0-35PSI Sport Comp boost gauge from Jannetty also. Ted is a great guy, knows his stuff. Will definatley be buying from him in the future.
