Gauges

I am looking at putting gauges (boost,EGT, trans temp) on my 04 2500 HO. Does anyone have any experience with the BD XMONITOR PY/BOOST 03-04-DG gauge(s)?

Hello welcome to the TDR!



I am still eying up having a custom X monitor made up for me (It would be Fuel , Trans , Exhaust Brake) That way I can take down my 3 pod pillar guages and have guages that match my blue chip fms. ... . oh the dream. anyways A friend just did an install on his X monitor and was VERY impressed with the ease of install. He will be doing on on an 04 in a few days so I will report back.

Well, It happened. I purchased the X-monitor and completed the installation in a matter of about 4 hours, including painting the mount to match my A pillar trim. The only hard part was drilling into the exhaust manifold. Not that it was diffucult, it is just hurts to poke holes in my baby. One shortcut that I found is connecting the trans temp sensor wire. Instead of wiggling either down or up to the ECM, I spliced into the harness from underneath by the firewall. All the wires at that point coming from the ECM are out of looms and fairly easy to get to.

The whole experience was a piece of cake and thanks to other TDR members I was able to find a starting point to set my alarm settings.
