RMTDR KDP Killin' Cookout - Oct/Nov 05

Dyno day needed in MO.

Howdy.

We're looking at putting together a major Dyno Day event in late March or early April. The date is TBD as well as the location. We can hold the event just about anywhere (within reason) and would like to leave it open for area diesel performance vendors to attend as well. We'd like to have a large social gathering, vendor's Midway, food and entertainment, and perhaps some technical seminars given by vendors who choose to attend. This is several months out, but now is the time to start putting something like this together. Please offer your thoughts and suggestions. If any of you have done something like this in the past, and would like to participate/organize this with us, please contact me either online or by phone. We'll have a 2400 HP Dyno Dynamics twin eddy current absorber chassis dyno on hand, and are looking for the heaviest-hitters in the Midwest to be in attendance to show everyone "how it's done!"

This event WILL happen, and we welcome all input with regards to how to make it as much fun as possible.

Thanks in advance,

BK

Yes, Jim. . . . we definitely want to see you there! I may even bring my single absorber 1200 HP rig up there as well, and run the two machines in tandem. It will all depend on how many participants it looks like we'll attract. I'd like to promote this event even on the Duramax and PowerStroke boards just to make things really interesting. I'd like to get Mr. Comp461 to bring the Dr. Performance race truck up to test, maybe make some exhibition runs at the track, etc.

I forgot to mention earlier, we will be trying to set things up either at or very near a drag strip for obvious reasons. Any vendors who are interested in attending/sponsoring this event, please contact me at your earliest convenience. This is going to be a lot of fun for everyone!

If it were in St. Louis I'd say gateway Int. If it were in Kansas I'd say Topeka (Track rental is $5500. 00..... ouch) or there is OKC at Thunder Valley, you might try and do it at Thunder Valley during an event to draw the crowd to the Diesel's.

Jim

KCIR is ok in Kansas City. I would hope it would be less money to rent then Heartland park in Topeka. I have raced at both and would go to either one. They have redone the surface at KCIR and it is much improved. Looks like Tommeygun is trying to set something up in STL.

The things that we're considering is where folks would be coming from, where they'd most like to stay, etc. The owner of the twin-absorber dyno lives in and owns a shop in Topeka. However, he's set up to trailer the dyno to wherever he wants to go, as am I with my single absorber setup. So, with that said, who here would be likely to make the trip to KS, and what all would you like to see there?

Man i would love to attend a dyno day event i know i would go and several of my family and freinds, especially if it where in or near K. C. Oo. Oo.

I think I could make it to topeka if it was before the second week of april (thats when I have to start towing our dirt track race car to the track). I like the idea of having it at a drag strip. I would rather see it at KCIR becouse it is closer to me but I could travel to topeka. Will those dynos except duall wheel trucks? Or will we have to remove the outside wheels?

What we've got to try to do is figure out the when and where. Too early in the spring, and we'll have the weather to contend with, too late in the spring, it'll be conflicting schedules.

What sort of things are going on during the months of May and April that we should take into consideration? Admittedly, I'm not good at keeping up on everything going on in and around KS (though it is my home state) and am only one of several people trying to organize this event. We'll make it happen, I'm just looking for you folks to give me some guidance so that I can make it as good as it can be.

Comments? Suggestions???

ST. louis - for sure at gateway raceway

KC - I would certainly love to make it... ESP. with so many of the big boys maybe there

April would probably be a good month for it. Usually decent weather, but who knows what it well be like it is Kansas after all.

I have been wanting to see something like this in KS for quite sometime. I will do what I can to help. My vote would be for Topeka, but track rental is high there. Wichita may be another good option. I'll try to drum up interest on the Powerstroke boards if you want.

I am going to be KC the better bet simply because of the number of trucks in this town and the ability to pull the guys from STL over here for something like that, not to mention the better oportunities to find places to stay in KC.
