I received a reply to my post on IRV2. COM that states the following: Can anyone with a 1999 QC Ram 2500 4x4 with the factory manual confirm this info?

Thanks,

Clay

From the sticker on the door jamb...

GAWR Front 4850

GAWR Rear 6084

GVWR 8800

From the owners manual, page 148...

2500 QC 4x4, 5. 9, auto, 3. 54 or 4. 10: GCWR=18,000. Max trailer wt=11,400

And from the ratings in the 1999 Ram Pickup sales brochure:

2500 QC 4x4, 5. 9, auto, 3. 54

GVWR 8800

GCWR=16,000

Max trailer wt=9,800

2500 QC 4x4, 5. 9, auto, 4. 10

GVWR 8800

GCWR=18,000

Max trailer wt=11,800

2500 QC 4x4, 5. 9, manual, 3. 54/4. 10

GVWR 8800

GCWR=20,000

Max trailer wt=13,700

Go figure!

You are correct about the 8800 gvw for truck with 3. 54 but the max GCWR is 16000lbs and thats for regular cab ,Max trailer weight is 9800 . I have a owners manual and they leftout the quadcab rate they have all the others quad cab weigh about 600 lbs more. All 2500 with manual and 4x4 20000 GCWR Max trailer weight 13300 . Hope this helps Ron Bissett in Metro Louisville KY:-{}
