Has anyone put a 2 micron filter kit on a 6. 7? It doesn't appear to be any room up front engine compartment, and was thinking putting a 2 micron filter in line before the stock filter ( 7 micron) on the rail somewhere underneath the truck which would be easy to get to. I know putting a 2 micron before the stock seems silly, but I know it would help. Any sugguestions?

I posted under this section a filter that we built... . See a page down or so... .

https://www.turbodieselregister.com...-2007-5/202565-dual-fuel-filter-assembly.html

It is a 10 micron filter with water trap and a second stage 2 micron filter... mounted on the frame rail of several of our trucks including our 08 5500...

We made this chance as the simple way to protect the complete system so that later the dealer can't say to us that we've not taken care of the fuel system and any damage is from bad fuel. .

The 08 now has 23000 miles and hasn't had a filter change yet, but we checked the water trap and found 2-3 teaspoons of water... .

I've posted picture of this filter... . and we've now installed it on 8 trucks. . 5. 9's, 6. 7's and some CAT engines.....

Thanks, That's just what I wanted to know. I want to clean the fuel the best I can to protect those pricy injectors and avoid future dealer problems about warranty work.

I would think about using the GDP big line kit for the 6. 7 and the universal 2 mic mount and putting it between the OEM and the CP3. . I like this for 2 reasons, the OEM acts as the gravel trap and the 2 mic only has to deal with small stuff, and you get the benefit of heated fuel into the 2 mic.

This how I intalled my 2 micron filter with GDP's big hose kit and I tapped in to the hose between the filter and the Injector pump so that I can see the pressure drop as the either of the filters becomes plugged. One thing about the kit is if you have the Jake Brake you need to order the big hose kit with the banjo fitting instead of the long radius 90 for the injector pump.
