View attachment 65333Finally got the GDP kit installed with 2 mic , water sep. ,big line kit, and bypassed factory filter. Also my fuel press. guage isolater. Tell me what yall think.

Nice install, but a few questions. . Can the filter be mounted between walbro pump and cp3??? If you bypassed the oem filter housing what did you do with the line coming from the rail pressure relief valve??? I have my GDP kit installed but I am fixing to add the 2 micron filter and I am also wanting to get rid of the engine mouted filter housing. . Thanks Wesley

Look at pic #3 and thats the piece they sell to remove the factory filter housing. And i dont see any reason u couldnt put filter between pump and cp3

Are those filters installed in the suction side of the walbro pump?In my opinion, the walbro pump will have a longer and happier life if those resrictions (Fuel filters) are installled in the pressure side of the pump. These pumps are better in pushing fuel rather than sucking.

not to jack your thread but here's the install I did. A high flow pre-filter before the walbro, to the OEM filter back to the 2 micron, then back to the CP3.

There's no restriction to ever worry about. I have a steady 22psi and may drop to 20 @WOT.

It gets cold where I live so I wanted to retain the fuel heater and in the process was able to retain the water separator also.

It's best to put the 2 micron just before the CP3 to ensure it's getting the filtration it should.

Very nice, clean install!

I agree on the placement of the filters - on my 2nd generation truck, I have a Frantz sub-micron filter installed ahead of the OEM filter, and still have the stock water in fuel sensor and heater functioning. I have my fuel regulator/bypass valve immediately in front of the VP-44 where I also installed my fuel PSI sensor, so PSI I am reading is what the VP-44 is actually getting, not what the Walbro is working into further up the line...

Hello. Did you have to drop the tank to do this? About how long did it take?

Thanx.

Yes, you need to drop the tank. It's very easy to do though so don't be intimidated by it. There's 2 bolts that come loose ( it really helps to have a air tool to do it since the threads are really long ) Once you drop the tank a little, you can reach in to disconnect the OEM connections. Make sure you have as little fuel in the tank as possible too.

I did the install my ( tank drop too ). It took a little time as I took my sweet time in ensuring everything not only looked good but was installed well. On average I'd say it would take 2 to 5 hours to install depending on your abilities.

If you're interested in doing it... . the GDP kit comes with a full set of pictured instructions... . GDP Comp install instructions

What's the flow rate on that Walbro? And what's the flow rating at 2-micron on that FS5320... anyone know off hand?

I can't find the flow rate on the filter but, it filters @ 92%. I'm sure the flow rate is pretty good because I get plenty of pressure after the filter. A Baldwin filters @ 98% but, is in writing from Cummins not to use there filters. Whether that's because they want you to buy theirs or it doesn't filter the way it claims... I don't know.

Here's the flow rate on the walbro 392...

If thse pumps only pump max 85gph and a fass is capable of >150gph I was wondering what a modified cp3 requires in gph???

a good question but, could you imagine you truck using more than 85gallons in an hour! I doubt the CP3 modified or not would need anywhere near that.

I feel pretty ignorant for not thinking of it that way... . but then again when you run WOT at any given time I wonder what the gph is??? Jus curious?? Why would FASS have 95gph,150gph, and 200ghp???? ;)
