I was pulling 4 horses back from the Flat Top Wilderness Area to Boulder on Sunday and nearing the top of the Eisenhower tunnel and at the top of Floyd Hill the transmission could not seem to figure out if it wanted 2nd or 3rd gear. I finally popped it into second and ran it at about 2800 RPM's to the top. As we were near the top both times I did not have to run it hard for very long.

Is there anything I can do to bolster this sorry butt transmission without voiding my warranty? I only have 22K and have been very happy with performance so far. I have pulled my jeep across Colorado twice and pulled 4 tons worth of horses through the highest interstate in the country. But this transmission is such a piece of crap for such an awesome engine.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

P. S. What gauges should I add?

Find your most comfortable chair, pack 3 days worth of food and your favorite beverage, then click on search for automatic transmission, and prepare to O. D. on info. ;)

Save all the reading, save some serious money ($3K) and see about an upgrade... . and if you start up-grading power---save faster for the up-graded transmission!!!! R, J. B.

JBone, that's what I was refering to.

An upgrade IS the answer, but the billion dollar question (not trying to start ANOTHER auto transmission flamefest) is WHOSE upgrade do you go with?

I'm still on the fence myself.
