You might have seen it at Cummins plant but the oil is drained and shipped to FCA dry.
Like I said FCA has a contract with Pennzoil and Shell owns Pennzoil. FCA would not confirm or deny the weight of oil as shipped to dealerships

As you'll read Cummins doesn't even know what FCA uses.
From Cummins email:

Good morning, Ronald!

I just wanted to follow up with you and make sure I was able to answer your question fully! When we ship our engines to Fiat Chrysler of America, they will come dry, once at the FCA facility, they will fill it with Valvoline Premium Blue 15W40 in it. We recommend sticking with the Premium Blue 15W40 if possible, but it's equivalent will also work!

I see you are a longtime supporter of our brand, and I would be happy to
provide you with the engine oil viscosity information that you are
requesting, Ronald.

With the information you provided I was able to pull your 2016 Ram 2500
SLT up in our system. According to our records your Ram is equipped with
the 6.7L I6 Cummins Turbo Diesel Engine.

There is no way to find out for certain which viscosity oil came in your
Ram from the factory, however, with all available information, the
factory normally puts the SAE 5W-40 Synthetic as this protects the
vehicle in all temperature conditions.

I have reviewed your online diesel supplement manual and have provided
the recommended engine oil viscosity for your truck below as per page
276 in the Maintaining Your Vehicle section:

Engine Oil Viscosity (SAE Grade)

In ambient temperatures above 0°F (-18°C), we recommend
you use SAE 15W-40 engine oil such as MOPAR,
Shell Rotella and Shell Rimula that meets FCA Material
Standard MS-10902 and the API CJ-4 engine oil category
is required. Products meeting Cummins CES 20081 may
also be used. The identification of these engine oils is
typically located on the back of the oil container.

In ambient temperatures below 0°F (-18°C), SAE 5W-40
we recommend you use synthetic engine oil such as
MOPAR, Shell Rotella and Shell Rimula that meets FCA
Material Standard MS-10902 and the API CJ-4 engine oil
category is required.

The factory fluid was a different color than what the dealer put in. Factory fluid was honey gold with a little green tint to it (green probably=pressure additives). The dealer fluid almost looked looked like it had friction clutch additive because it had more of a white/gray/green color.

There's a document out there somewhere from FCA stating that the gear oil from the factory will have a lighter milky appearance (my words, but it stated something to that affect) because of the tooth marking compound used to run the gear pattern.

Also, all of the clutch additive I have seen has been clear....and they would have no reason to put that in these diffs.

The amsoil differential friction modifier is very white. It is not even translucent. That's the only one i've seen
