I am dumb with computers, I thought I had put this question on yesterday, but I can't find it. The dealer has worked on my truck three times which included replacing the steering column. There is no correlation between the indicator and the tramission. I drove home yesterday in R at 65. The dealer is going to try again Monday. Thanks for any information. Farmer Jim

Just fixed mine last week. I replaced the manual shift lever on VB and gear selector module on driver side transmision case next to the cable. there is a little plastic clip on the manual shift lever that can break.

The first time the dealer replaced the shift lever on the steering column, said he spent $700 on parts. The last time he replaced the steering column and said the only other mechanical part he could change would be the transmission. I thought all along it might be on the electrical signal side. When you have it in D[according to the indicator] but the transmisson isn't the engine will top out at 2100, so I suppose the engine thinks the transmission is in D. Farmer Jim
