I am curious about the gear selector for the C&C auto trucks. Is it PRND321 with OD switch or what? Can you manually select any gear between 1 and 6? It would nice to see a pic of the gear selector.

The gear selection is exactly as you stated. PRND123. You can select all the gears individually. Drive is 6th, tow/haul is 5th, O/D off is 4th, (both of them, 5th and 4th, are selected from a button on the end of the gear shift lever) then you have 3rd, 2nd, and 1st on the selector. The gear selector looks exactly like all the rest of the gear selectors.

Thanks EB. That's good to know you can limit upshift to any gear you want. Kind of interesting how they go about it.

I found this (REALLY BIG) picture that helped answer my question #ad

That's pretty slick! This new truck is sounding better all the time. Wonder if the Aisin might become an option on the 2500/3500s?

If you order a new 2500/3500 today you would get the 6. 7L with the six speed auto or G56 stick. I opted for the manual that's proven. If I orderd a spots car it would be a stick. The engineering sounds impressive but long term reliability and durability is questionable at this point, oh yea the price is considerably more. . I feel there is a certian amount of risk in having both a newly design engine and Trans. Just my thoughts.

How do you owners of the 07 like this new asin trans? just ordered an 07. 5 with 6speed automatic with exhaust brake. . how well do those work? thanks alot garett

If you ordered a regular 2500 or 3500, you will not be getting the Aisin transmission as it is only for the C&C trucks... .

Just jumping in here because I hope to be purchasing a new truck soon. I eventually want to run 35s with an upgraded suspension. It looks like if you get the 68RFE and want to run 35's, you'd want to go with 4. 10 gears. Klenger has an upgraded gear speed calculator spreadsheet on his website www.klenger.net

The G56 with 3. 73s is still a little tall even with 35s.

I won't be getting a C&C so my choices are the 68RFE or the G56 right?

the aisin trans is used in 2. 5 ton trucks & buses. it is 375+lbs and only used

in the c&c because the 68rfe has no pto . the 68rfe is rated at up to 900

lbs torque . It is a larger version of the 45rfe used with HEMI
