I would like to extend my gear shifter another 4 inches higher. Does anyone know if there is one out there to buy or will i have to do it myself?

I did the same thing. I'm not aware of anything to buy, but I picked up some 5/8" round stock for a few dollars from Tractor Supply. The shifter is easy to remove, and the metal is very easy to work with. I heated mine up with an torch, bent it to my liking, and welded the extension piece in.

Even if you don't have a welder, it shouldn't cost very much to have a shop fab it for you.

I'm pretty sure the Hurst SRT10 shifter from Geno's brings the ball a little closer. You may want to check it out.

Looks sharp, but how did you get it on? Are they still threaded spin-on, or is mine different? It just doesn't look like that could spin all the way around...

It's super easy. The shift knob screws on, but the shifter itself is held on with 2 bolts. Just lift up the rubber boot, and you'll see the two bolts... less than 1 minute, and it's off.

My gear shift has a big hex at the base and unscrews. I would've liked to bend it more than I have, but bent too much, it wouldn't be able to spin on.

 I guess you're referring to your '03 and have the NV5600 then?
