More details are coming in. . housing does NOT need to be replaced, carrier does. Whole job, with new bearings and labor should be around $2300. Probably a bit high, but truck will be back on the road today, so... whatcha gonna do. .

In a lot of cases it's possible to buy a special 4. 11 thick ring gear that fits the 3. 55 carrier. It's cheaper than buying a carrier & ring gear.
