Is anyone running the Gear Vendor overdrive unit in an '06 Dodge CTD, or??

I'm interested in buying one and would like to hear input, pro or con. Thanks.

I'm running a Gear Vendor in my 06 Mega Cab, 6-speed manual,3. 73 rear end,4x4

Been extremely pleased. Had one in my 95 and loved it.

I just bought one and will be installing it in the coming weeks. I too had one in a 1Gen '98 w/3. 54's and loved it. With G56 and 3. 73, I think it should be just what the Dr ordered. Glad to hear CContreras is a happy camper...

I have a Gear Vendor in my 98 12v. I like it. It has given me problems but the folks at Gear Vendor are there to help and have always been able to solve the problem on the phone. Once you get the hang of shifting it, it is easy. I have 3. 55 rear end and at 70 MPH my Tach says 1500. Truck runs much quieter (500 RPM less) but no difference in fuel mileage. I did have 4:10 ( truck came with it) and changing to 3:55 made no difference in fuel milage. When I changed to Marine Injectors I got 2 to 3 MPG better but only when towing. I don't know the answer to that one.

It may have changed since years have passed but my understanding of US Gear is that it is strictly mechanical. With a Gear Vendor it shifts out automatically when a low speed is reached, approx 20 MPH. On mine I have a switch in the floor that I can tap with my left foot to shift in or out. That is when you have selected the manuel mode. In the automatic mode it will shift in and out. In at 40 MPH and out at 20 MPH. To avoid rough shifts I keep mine in the manual mode. When it shifts in, in automatic mode if you are not paying attention and don't hear it attempting to shift in and don't let up on the accelerator the shift will be rough. The switch in the floor is the old headlight dimmer switch. I like the quieter engine at 500 less RPM. At 70 MPH I am turning 1500 RPM instead of 2000. NO savings in fuel. Why I do not know. Send me an email if you wish. -- email address removed --

Last Dec. 06 I made some phone calls Re: US Gear O. D. units and one of their vendors told me they are no longer in production.

That is the last information I've heard on US Gear.
