I put 35 inch tires on my truck with the stock 3. 54 gears. I want to change the gears, if I go 4. 10 that will bring me back to stock 3. 54 with the tires or should I go 4. 56 or what?

From using a rpm/speed calc. , the 4. 10's will be close to the same as the stock size tires/gears assuming the stock tires are 32" tall.

I looked into swapping out my 4. 10s to 3. 54s. I found out that it was going to be around $2000. I've got an 01 4x4. I decided that that 2 grand could be better spent on my engine.

Wish you guys had 2wd- I'd swap gearsOo.

Check the classified and post about a swap- there's always someone looking to trade (except when I want to:rolleyes: ).

The expense in switching are the carrier bearings must be changed when going above 3:73.

I would keep the 3. 54 gears. You'll get used to them and the advantage of the higher gearing. I can't wait to put 35s on my new truck as it has 3. 73s and get that engine speed back down to what my 95 ran.
