I might not even need to do this but im going to ask any how .

I seen this on the "super Dually on TRUCKS " so it got me thinking .

Since im going to install a 94 in my 93 , Would it be easier to put the Gen 2

colom in my truck along with the guages and the wiring harness ?

Note : I dont have a colom or the harness , just the engine harness .

What do i need to do ?????

Thanks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes you can physically install a 2nd gen steering column into any truck. It's only a matter of welding up the proper brackets.

However... . since I used to design steering shafts for a living..... understand that steering column attachment and configuration is a really big deal for driver safety. The columns, mounts, and steering shafts are designed to absorb energy in a crash so the driver survives. For any of these designs to go into production there are multiple crash tests and studies done.

A non OEM column is not federally safety compliant.

So the risk is all on you.

The 1991. 5 to 1993 (first gen steering column) IS the same as the 1994. I don't understand what you are after. Is the first gen column broken?

What problem are you having with wiring? The 7100 pump engine isnt set up much different. You have the normal starter setup, you need a hot for the pull/hold coil on the shut off solenoid, whatever you wanna do with the grid/fuel heaters, and then you have your charging system. All the conversions Ive done, ive had the alternator converted to an internally regulated setup, then its a one wire hookup. Dont need the 2nd gen ecm or the 1st gen voltage regulator.

I got a 93 engine in it now , but every thing is going into a 85 since the 93 is a rust bucket , i think my 93 harness will plug into the 85 . the 94 engine has the engine wireing hanging on it . Im not shure what will splice on to it or if any thing will connect to it . the alt i know is the same etc . Were would i run this extra wire to ?I like the idea of a one wire hook up i hate that 2 " wire loom running around in the truck
