Another joke from My Uncle

TDR alarm Clock (This thing is cool)

I'm in the market for a generator for camping. I am looking at the eu3000is honda, and the ef3000ise/b yamaha. Does anybody have input on these two inverters? I like the yamaha because they say it will boost power, up to 500watts from the start up battery for start up on ac's and other equipment. Makes easier and faster start ups. I talked to a honda salesman about the boost on a honda inverter and he said it had it also. I don't see it on any of there info. about the thing. I think he was just trying to sell me a honda.

What do you think?

Thinks alot,

I have the Yamaha and love it. It works great with my 15,000 BTU AC on my Keystone Laredo. It is quiet and fuel efficient. It has run almost 96 straight hours in 100 degree heat without missing a beat. I have had it for 4 years. It can run 12-14 hours on 3. 5 gallons of gas at full load. On efficency setting, almost 20 hours.

If these are my only two options, I'll choose the Yamaha. I've run one and was very impressed. Startup wattage boost from the battery is a great idea to me rather than over-stressing the generator itself.

However, given the choice, I would buy two 2000 watt Honda's and run them in tandem to run the A/C. Reason being, if you are camping in a cold area, you only need to run, and lift/carry/move one generator that's less than half the weight of the bigger Honda or Yamaha.

Just my impression and opinion.

I too have the Yamaha 3000 with boost tech. It's a great generator very quiet yet it's very heavy. I recently purchased a Honda eu2000 again, this will be my second Honda 2000. The first Honda was great and I sold it to move up to the Yamaha 3000. Now, with a second generator in the garage I'll use the Honda 2000 for camping trips where I don't need the air conditioner. I really like the light weight of the Honda ( Less than 50 lbs ).

Can't have too many generators here in earthquake country.
