FYI on the ac units.
Outside ambient temp will also affect starting current, more than you think. A gen set that will start an ac unit on a cloudy 75 degree day may not start it on a 110 degree day in full sun. The pressure the refrigerant puts on the piston is higher the hotter it is outside. This raises starting and running amps. Rotary type compressors are less affected by higher temps at start up. I think most newer soft start high efficiency units use rotary now. Bill
