geno muffler eliminator installed

finished up the install yesterday. topped it off with one of their 5 inch exhaust tips. a little louder than stock but not too bad.

Piece of cake - used a 4" sidegrinder w/cut-off blade to split the muffler in/out's, spread with screwdriver & pulled off of exhaust piping, slipped replacement pipe onto exhaust piping & installed clamps.

They sure installed the clamps tight on my '05. Crimped the pipe at least 1/4" on top where it is hardest to get the cut-off wheel to. Other than that, its a breeze.

pipe was crimped by factory clamps. i also removed with a die grinder and small cutoff wheel. the kit came with one bracket/clamp and i used stainless band clamps for the other two connections. super rigid.

Put one on my 06. For a $100. 00 exhaust upgrade it is well worth the money. Deeper tone and no drone with an empty truck. It thought the pipe was a little short. It looks like it could have sliped on the cat side and tail pipe side better. I mite just need to make some adjustments. It not leaking, just looking for a tighter fit. All in all a simple upgrade till I deicide to do some kind of full turbo system after some more upgrades.

I installed genos pipe, i think it sounds good from in the cab, a little louder than stock, but not obnoxious. I also put a torque tube on with stock box, and removed the silencer ring, so i could hear the turbo some more.

Where did you get the band clamps? Got a pick of them? What I call a band clamp is basically a hose clamp. So ,if you have some pics and where I can get them with a part number that would be GREAT!

My buddy and i put this kit on my truck and we heated the crimped parts with a little propane torch and used alittle elbow grease and now i have my factory muffler in great shape, now i can put it back on if need be,or sell the whole system(when i go 5") to someone in need of a fatory system. It took about 1 1/2hrs from start to finish!

I don't have a part number, but the stainless band clamps I used are available at any NAPA auto parts. Very high quality. Just ask the parts guy. The clamps are about four inches wide with two 9/16 stainless bolts I think. Definitely recommend after wrestling with the overtightened factory u-clamps. They are reusable because I have had them on and off several times. Good Luck.

I installed the MEK from Genos too and am pretty happy, truck sounds good (too me) and it seemed to help a touch with the MPG (according to overhead). Totally worth a 100 bucks, just from the little extra sound it gives ya. Scotty
