How is it?

Hello,

I've been looking at the Cup Smoothy but it doesn't look like the cup holders are big enough for anything other than a soda can. How is this product, is it useful? I'd like to have one waiting on my new truck when it arrives.

Thanks a million,

I have Geno's Cup Smoothie and like it a lot. It will no doubt hold containers bigger than a soda can. The big McDonald's plastic cups fit in perfect. And the huge (I think it's the 1 liter plastic bottle) Mt Dew fits in it too.

Order it and if you end up not liking it, send it back. Geno's told me they would accept returns.

BTW...

I have in the boxes, new and never used, two front and two rear Mopar mud flaps I bought from Geno's. I'm getting ready to send them back for a refund. Let me know if you are or are not interested. If you're not interested, I'll be sending them back to Geno's.

Some people like these, some like Pro-Flaps which is what I put on mine. And of course there are others out there too. All a personal preference, and of course how much one wants to pay.

Scott.

Soda cans are too small for the cup smoothie. The top ofthe cans barely come to the top of the holder. Sometimes hard to get out. Otherwise these things are great.

For you folks with leather interior. My cup smoothie rubs against the leather/vinyl surface of the center seat. Squeeks like crazy. Need to find good material to attach to bottom of smoothie, and prevent this. Any ideas?

Genos rules!. They are my favorite place to order from. Great service. They will take care of any problems immediatley.

SlyBones,

You might try a piece of the sticky back velcro for the squeak. That sticks good and the loop side shouldn't bother the leather. I put some of that stuff around the inside of the top of my Cup Smoothy to stop the rattle of the cups. My coffee mug was driving my wife nuttier.

Smoothie and six speeds

Does the smoothie work with the 6 speed. I would love to have one, but looks like it might be in the way of 4 or 6 gear.

Thanks,

Wes

The Smoothie works fine with the 5 and six speeds as long as you don't have one of them HUGE drinks in the driver's side holder(for my 5 speed anyway).

Slybones, You can find some of those furniture feet pads. That might cure you squeak.

Also, I keep a foam Koozie in the truck for the soda(yeah that's it) cans. It keeps them from becoming lost in the holder as well as stops the rattling.

As far as Geno's customer service goes. It's second to none. I've ordered my Smoothie and my Westach combo gauge from them. It suprises me how fast the stuff gets to my door. I didn't think the big brown truck could move that fast!!

Squeak squeak squeak stop stop stop

You could try a small patch of medium grade felt that most closely resembles your interior, and glue it with a semi-permanent stickum to the part of the smoothie that is rubbing. Ive seen some sprayon type adhesive that claims to be able to reglue headliners. Well I guarantee it doesn't work for headliners, but it should work for your purposes anyway. ;) Color matching the felt as best you can will make it less evident.

When the felt wears out (should take a while) you can peel it off , clean it up, and glue another piece on, and voilla! Your back in business. .

Mine works good with the 5 spd, but I use the pass. side cup holder as I usually have the 44 oz. cups. Much less drink spillage w/out a lid, unlike the stock spring board arangement. The shifter just clears the cup in Reverse.

I have a feeling the newer (98+) trucks may not have the 4th gear interference problem with the driver's side cup holder, I know the shifter throws on my buddies' '98 are much shorter than mine. I also have one of the "mug hugger" cup holders that will hang off the smoothie or the door, for passengers on longer trips.

I have the cup smoothie with my 6spd. I use big coffee cups, etc, and don't have any clearance problems. For 12oz pop cans, i drop an empty can of copenhagen in the holder, then set my pop on top of that. Works fine.

Only time clearance is a problem is while towing a heavy load and trying to shift fast enough to not lose RPMs. I have banged the shifter into the cup smoothie hitting sixth gear, but it is to the left of the actual cup holder.

I also used the same paint on it as on my gauge pod on the A pillar. Not a perfect match with the interior, but darn close.

SlyBones

try some silicone spray on the bottom of it and let it dry good B4 reinstall. I have used that stuff for lots of things and it works pretty good for a dry lube, not sure about leather though.

How do you guys get the lid to close with the cup smoothy in place?????????

I just asked the question and realized the package came with instruction witch blew me away not use to that and then took a vice grip and slowly unscrewed the pin in the bottom recess till it closed easily. ED
