Way more Cummins-dodge trucks on the road than any other brand.

Another vote for the OEM tow mirrors. No vibration and remote adjustment is great. No matter how often you tow, you will apreciate the view around your fifth wheel. Fred

I think I have the cipa from Geno's. Large, slide out, no vibration,Expensive but worth it. Just don't forget to slide in after use.

If they mirrors are 108 inches they will need to be permitted, I think. I believe 102" is as wide as you can go before permits. I know that is the rule with loads, but maybe the tow vehicle has different regs.

Width regulations do not include mirrors on the tow vehicle. They are about the only thing that can be wider than 102".

Now, if you were hauling a pickup on a flatbed trailer, then you need to make sure that the mirrors on the hauled truck do not extend past 102". When the mirrors are on the hauled truck, they are part of the load, not safety equipment used on the tow vehicle. Clear as mud??

RMachida, For the sliding out problem just pop the glass out(put your fingers under the bottem edge and slide it up,it's tight) there are six t-10 torx screws on the bottem arm and six on the top arm and tighten and replace glass and that's it, eight of mine were loose no more problem's with the slide in over a year, all in all I like my cipa mirrors, if you have any questions call me @636-699-0223 Don

any #'s on factory oem tow mirrors anywhere and what all is involved in installing them on a 99.

DieselMN- I don't have the part numbers with me at work, but they are available for the 2nd gens- I bought a set for my 2000 from a dealer off Ebay a few weeks ago- the only downside is that they are only available in manual for the 2nd gens- no power or heat functions for the glass. But the increase in visiblity is phenomenal! They are real easy to install- remove the door panels, undo 3 nuts on each side, remove, and install the new ones in the same way. it was maybe a 20 minute job, mirrors were about $200 shipped. The mirrors come with all the hardware needed to install the mirrors, including replacement clips for reinstalling the door panels.

Let me see if I can dig up the part numbers and I'll get back to you. Check out Ebay to see what's up there now, type in "ram towing mirrors", you'll need to buy a set for a 2002 Ram 2500

HeberRam,

I'm gonna have the OEM tow mirrors installed at the dealer on 4/3. They said they're $365 plus 1. 5 hrs labor. (Total around $480)

I didn't want to spend this much, but it was the one thing I overlooked when picking out my new truck. They're a "must have" pulling a 5er around.

I'll let you know how they work,

I like the look of those better than having my towing mirrors always "out. " I prefer to have my mirrors vertical rather than horizontal, so I can see further back, and cover my blind spot, but I think mine look funny "out" without a trailer. Wonder what I'd have to do to hook up the LED function to the turn signal? I like the idea of someone two lanes over knowing they could get plowed if they try to move into the same lane as you at the same time.

Had the OEM Tow mirrors installed today. They're so much better than the short ones. Nice and wide vision. I didn't know what I was missing. Not cheap though, $502 out the door. Now, what to do with the short mirrors? They're like new.
