Geno's...

Geno's a good deal:D Maintainance parts, (filters, hoses, repair kits, etc. ) and other First Gen treasures:p See my signature;)

This board has been a little slow in recent times. First, thanks to Greenleaf for a post that had no replies for a while and now has put some life back.

Owning a 1st gen (non Dodge) is a hill I mostly enjoy climbing, but the more help the better. Geno's and TDR are in business and "customer feed back" is the life blood. My subscription is worth it, I like to read the magazine for the tech stuff, but in all honesty the web site from a !st gen perspective is starting to seem a little worn. The willingness of folks here to help each other with info is still strong, but if you think a video of the installation of a VE might help you need to look elsewhere.

They added a Dodge only "RV" focus to the magazine but ignore all the older motorhomes running around with 5. 9 engines that are not Dodge. (If you want a low mile Cummins check out scrapped motorhomes) There is a chance to add business, info and subscribers.

how many do you think they would sell? Compared to the electric pumps, the manuals pumps are dead reliable and just don't fail often enough.

Genos garage is a business like any other, have to turn over the inventory to make a profit. These days, thats tough enough on a big seller. Tough to do with an item that only needs replacing every couple hundred k or so. :-laf

we are the "unknown" generation, fabbing things out of cast offs and binder parts. :d

why don't you get in to the parts ?

Oh I don't know, them binder parts last a long time. :-laf

Ya, I know. I work for my state's DOT plowing snow in the winter. They have all IH's, most of them old. :-laf I love 'em though. The older ones are the better ones! Hmmmm, where have I heard that before... ...

Oh wow. I know I've had to make stuff. But I'd rather start from scratch than to start with an International part. :-laf

NASTY!! My grandfather had nothing but Roadbinders for a great many years. Almost 200 of them at one time..... they would run forever, but kinda like the old Dodges, you had to keep the doors welded up or they would fall off... . as far as pump parts, I think upgrading to a P pump is pretty feasible, especially if you're gonna keep one :D... . Why can't we get parts that we REALLY need, like door panels!!?!#@$%! I mean, really?!! I'm getting tired of having to buy an old dodge just to part it out to build another!!... ... . ok, maybe not... :p

President??

Ok. I might run. I mean, how much worse could I do?

Just to clarify one point I made before, some of the 94-98 parts we know will work on our trucks. It would be nice if they'd put a note in the catalog to say that. Otherwise you have to risk buying a part you think might work and find out when you get it that it won't... . although with proper use of a hammer and pry bar it still might work.

Speaking of Scott, where the heck is he??

... ..... blacksmithing. Yea, blacksmithing.

Orange hot iron. Coal and coke. Cross Pein hammer and anvil.

I added another hobby to my mix by working for the Ohio Historical Society. On weekends.

The point of this thread is thus; why would geno's ask "how did you get over 400 HP with a VE pump?"

They are not "asking" how. They are telling us it don't happen. How do I know? They have little interest in these trucks as proven by the fact the items for sale that fit this engine are/have been advertised as "1994-"

It seems really ignorant to print something so silly, when 400 HP was surpassed many years ago.

I am in no way knocking the Geno's staff nor customer service. I buy from them and will continue to do so. I don't know how anyone could have read that into my statement.

If you look closely, it is clear that Scott is in the process of building a VE pump from scratch. It will be somewhat larger than stock.

Too funny!!:-laf:-laf

It might be offered in Geno's next issue.

I don't make horse shoes, yet. I'd like to though. I just began this in April 2010. I'm working my way up. I took the place of the former blacksmith with a little help from him and you-tube.

I have been asked to be a substitute/stand-in for the blacksmith at the world renouned/Ohio Canal Town of Roscoe Village. A dream come true in fact. Last weekend, I was blacksmithing at the forge of Roscoe.

Roscoe is the Ohio version of Colonial Williamsburg, VA.

I don't believe Geno's recognizes performance parts for square boddied diesels. I'm half joking/half serious.
