Just installed the Filter for the interior vent from genos. Went very smooth. I reused the fasteners on the top edge as well as the supplied screws.

I did this about 6 monts ago.....

..... with the same results. The thread about 8 months ago that talked about taking 10+ hours to R and R the air conditioner condenser (complete with pictures) made me take the plunge.

I did notice less dust in the Pickup this summer over the others.

I installed one last summer and noticed for the first time that all of the plastic screws holding the grill down were missing. Don't know where they could have gone, I've owned the '95 since new and the grill has never been off. Think the Scotty could have sucked them off?;)

Anyone who parks under trees has to have this set-up otherwise you're looking at a very involved cleanup project and possible heater or A/C core corrosion from the build up.

Ok, here.

ALL of the intake openings are covered with this kit

Do they make them for the 03s yet? Didn't see them on Geno's. Cheers.

worth a fitment look...

Eric... in your spare time will you measure the furthest most hight they achieve..... I have a after market hood and would like to take a look at the fitment issues... I think it will clear but ya never know

do you remember my rig from Edge dyno days last year... Silver sport with charcoal falmes and cowl hood

The measure lines is where I took measurements. the top of the filter cage is the same height all the way across. My hood, if you look at the other pics, comes down and just touches the top of the cage.

The total height from the red areas and the other red dots you see on the pass side is 1 5/8"

willy,

yes I do remember your truck. I have gotten a van atkin box since that day. had 275 RR HP then be neat to see what I have now. All I have is a bluechip 4 wire and a van atkin and 4" ex. .

Eric... thanks for the info. . I'll measure today. .

I want these filters as I get a lot of pine needles and the related junk from pines... in other posts there have been pic's of the heater radiator and rot caused by debris in the area . . this would correct, stop the junk from entering.

Q

Would it be safe to assume that the prior fitment problems with this product have been rectified?

I almost purchased this product when Geno's released them for sale but found out that other members experienced fitment problems. And if memory serves, fitment problems were still a concern over a year later.

Anyone?

Re: Q

I just ordered one, I don't remember hearing this problem, guess I will let you know soon.

I believe I read that the units were made a little too short and wouldn't mount correctly no matter what was tried... in fact I know that to be true, "Bad Brad" from Newcastle, WA was the member who reported it.

Its sitting on the floor up stairs, maybe tomorrow I will "try" to install it. I will let you know

UPDATE:

I just installed them. They fit fine. One corner sticks up about 1/32" above the orginal plastic, but with the heat of summer, that will probably lay down. (before drilling the screw holes, push the new cover down so it matches the orginal plastic cowl cover)

I also recomend using a drill, the directions say "self tapping screws" but its a lot eaiser if you drill a pilot hole ;)
