I can't find any muffler shop were I live to replace my muffler with a piece of pipe (a 4" to 3" section).

Has anyone tried or used the Geno's M E Kit? How hard was

it to put on? Let me know what you thought of it.....

Thanks, MH

I put one on, pipe is good quaility and the fit was perfect. It was a piece of cake to put on, getting the muffler off was a struggle. I wanted to keep the muffler to re-use it if I wanted to, but ended up trashing it with a sawzall getting it off. Get a cutoff wheel on a grinder or a sawzall ready before you start, once you make the decision that the muffler is not going back on it is a piece of cake. Hope this helps.

Used this kit myself about 3 months ago--good sound, but!! I do have the drone at 55-60 that most complain about--I just kick it up to 65-70... .

I've had one for 3 yrs now and I love it. Easy to install. Some drone but I agree... kick it up to 70... 75... 80... ??? :D

I got the old muffler off by taking a dremel tool and cutting a notch in the neck of the muffler where it attached to the pipe from the engine. Then I just yanked real hard and it came off. I did fall on my a$$ doing it, but it is worth it.

I installed mine this week. The 4" clamp that the Genos kit wants you to reuse was welded to the pipe. took a while with an air hammer to brake the welds. The fit was great. Over all it was more work that I expected. If you do cut the pipe cut it as close to the muffler as you can.

I also spent weeks trying to find a local shop to make me a piece of pipe. NO one wanted to do it or they wanted to charge over $100. That's Kalifornia for ya':(

This is what i did. I went to summint bought a 2 4'x3" pipe. went to auto zone bought 3 couplings 3" to 3" welded two coupleings to one uncut pipe. Then put it under the truck took a mesurment of the rest of the distance needed to cover and cut the second pipe. Then i slid the cut pipe into the coupling welded to the other pipe and put the last coupling on the end of the cut pipe and did a test fit. Then trimed off what was needed then welded the short pipe to one end of the other pipe w/ the coupling then the coupling on the end of the short pipe. And wala you have taken out the muffler. Now mine did the muffler and the cat. It might only take one pipe to do the muffler.
