Cummins/Nissan

You would think than the V-8 cummins would be in the Ram 1/2 ton and not the VM motori engine from Italy. This will not make me a Nissan fan at all.

I was wondering what happend to the design. Wasn't it originally going to be considered for the 1/2 Ram before Fiat came in to play?

I remember reading something like that a few years back. It's interesting to see two companies so far apart on displacement for a comparably sized truck, a 3. 0 liter v6 vs a 5. 0 liter v8, that's roughly 120 cubic inches difference.

It will be interesting to see what other new changes come to the Titan and the Nissan brand in general as time goes on. I'm very pleased what he did while with Ram.

I don't know how the new guy will pan out, but Fiat may wind up really regretting letting Diaz get away!!

And Cummins.

You never know why/how these companies handle mergers, takovers, etc. There very well may have been a great opportunity at Nissan for him to develop the product or $$$, or some friction at Ram post Fiat.

With that said, I have been and still am very excited about the introduction of a diesel back in to the 1/2 ton segment. Having Cummins, Nissan, Ram, and Fiat all involved will provide some healty competition for all involved. I was very excited at the prospect of trading my current 1/2 on a 1500 diesel Ram when the were rumored. I don't know if that will ever happen since I am now thinking of thinning the fleet a little, but it still has me thinking.

Just remember Fiat owns Chrysler and Ram - - using the home manufactured equipment not out sourced items - - only Ram owners (and sales people) are in love with Cummins. I for one want no part of the Nissan or any other Jap vehicle- - Kinda' like buying Chinese tires like the ones that came on my travel trailer. Guess I'm stuck with my '06 until Cummins builds a truck (won't happen) Oh well maybe a Chevy!
