Georgia (South East Chapter) Update

The suggestion of a meeting date of Sat. February 19 to coincide with a camper show sounds fine to me. Where is the camper show being held at?

Steve

------------------

The camper show is being held at the Atlanta Exposition Center South. In the Jonesboro area (I think).

I'm not too familiar witht that area, so if anyone knows of a place to meet there, let me know and I'll make sure it's ok with management, parking, etc.

Let's get this going!

Cheers,
Randy

I think I know where the camper show is going to be held. Ill check it out and see if I can find a place for us to meet. That is if that date is ok for everyone else.

That sounds great. Let us know what you come up with.

That sounds great to me. Me and my wife do not have a camper yet. But we have a topper set up to get by with. Just let us know!

One additional note to Rambler's post...

Remember, this is an organizational meeting, not a true chapter meeting. We'll need to discuss topics that will pertain to how the chapter should function in the future. Bring your ideas and we'll discuss them.

If you are planning on attending, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE e-mail me at rcobb@ga. prestige.net ASAP so I can make sure they have a table set up for us before we get there. I've compiled a list of e-mail addresses of those who posted here showing an interest, so you should expect an e-mail shortly giving you the particulars.

Cheers,
Randy

If you'd like to contact more TDR members in the Atlanta area regarding a Chapter or similar activities, contact Robin at Geno's Garage (770-886-4955). I work with both Geno's and the TDR. I can run pre-printed mailing labels for local TDR members if you'd like to send a postcard regarding an upcoming meeting. Also, we don't have space at Geno's yet, but in the June timeframe, we'll complete a small office/warehouse and we'd be glad to host a weekend coffee/doughnut type meeting/event.

rpatton,

Thanks for that information. I'm sure that we'll want to include all GA (S. E. US for that matter) members. Once we get organized, and with a set meeting date each month, one of us 'organizers' will get in contact with you to contact more local/regional members.

Thanks,
Randy

Gang,

Everything is still set for this coming Saturday (2/19). I'll send an e-mail to those who have confirmed attending with more detailed directions on how to get to Taco Mac. It's still at 1:00pm.

Looking forward to meeting all of you.

Gang,

Tomorrow is the big day... We're still on for 1pm at the Taco Mac.

Here are the directions I have:

I-75 to Stockbridge exit (Hwy. 138)
The Taco Mac is on the right just past the Kroger shopping center next to Applebees.

I'm sorry, but I'm not sure what way to turn when exiting I-75. My intent was to head down there so I could provide some more detailed directions, but work has taken it's toll.

Regardless, see you all there at 1pm. Remember that there is a camper show in the area if you are interested afterwards.

Cheers & looking forward to meeting you all,
Randy

Looks like our first meeting was successful!

Those in attendance were Rambler, DavidTD, Tharpe, Andy_R, BigUgly, and myself. Some of us brought spouses/significant others.

We had a ball! I'm still wondering what was going through the Taco Mac's manager when she popped out to ask us if we were having engine troubles... Imagine, 6 Cummins Dogdes sitting beside a restaurant, all with the hoods open.

Some of us took the opportunnity to try out DavidTD's VA box... Looks like a new order for JRE filling soon!!! My wife still thinks we're going to Disney World... WRONG! #ad

So, what's on the agenda for next meeting? Who knows at this point... We're looking for an opportunity to meet and are looking for input, so speak up!

As for other news, we haven't any yet, but stay tuned.

Looking forward to next time.

Randy,

Kudo's to you for getting this all setup. It was great to finally put some faces to the text of the board.

Glad I could help a few of you have the VA experience before you bought. Like I said the box will sell itself. Let's see, Ted should get two orders after this weekend so Ted, how about giving me some discount points towards your 4" exhaust??? #ad

I plan on going to the diesel drags this month for those that want to go. See Bmanns post under local events.

Good to meet you all.

To all attendees at Saturday's meeting:

It was very nice to meet ya'll. We had a good time and look forward to the next get- together.

And for all who didn't make it: we missed you and hope you are there for the next meeting. We enjoyed a good time comparing trucks and equipment. We met a lot of good folks who love their trucks. Come on 12-V's; those 24's had me out-numbered 5:1.
