Noticed a lot of the trucks had E-code headlight lenses. Would love to know where those are available. If you've never driven a car with E-code headlights at night, they simply are amazing. The bulbs are the same wattage as DOT bulbs, however the lenses project the light MUCH better than DOT headlights. Plus the lenses project part of the beam out on the right, illuminating the road shoulder, giving the driver better visibility in that area. This is on the low beams. High beams are similar to DOT.
Though I couldn't see, I'll bet all of the trucks also had amber rear direction signals, which is mandatory for any vehicle registered in Germany. Amber direction signals are a lot safer, and visible, than the red used in the US. The red used here can be confused with 4-way flashers.
