Well last Monday the throwout bearing decides to start howling at 137K. I thought I would get out with a pilot bearing, throwout bearing and a disc.
After I got the transmission out Friday I noticed the end if the input shaft is worn ~. 100" where it rides on the pilot bearing.
Got all of the parts (in stock) at Standard Transmission in Ft Worth including a new 12. 25" LUK clutch kit for $233.
After I got ready to reinstall the speedo drive gear (main shaft) I noticed it has a ring one one end of the teeth. Can't see what differance it would make but which way does it go?
What is the proper torque on the yoke? Mine might have been 60lbs.
After having this thing apart for installation of the input shaft, I can understand why these Getrags grenade so easily. The thrust is held back by the output shaft housing which is held on by 8mm bolts. They were close to having a real transmission but dropped the ball.
