Getrag Fluid Level?

I just changed my engine oil, trans oil, t-case oil, rear diff. oil. i was wondering about the getrag though. i know ive read that your suposed to overfill the getrag 1 quart. i read in the service manual that it calls for 3. 5 quarts of 5W- 30. so i put 4. 5 quarts of 5W-30. is this the amount that yall have put in? the reason i ask, is just to make sure that the 3. 5 quarts the book sugests, dosent allready have the extra quart factored in.

Nope the 3. 5 quarts is factory fill... to the fill hole. Some guys run 1 quart over, some 1. 5 quarts over. Mine just leaks the more I put it in. I tried 5qts, it leaked, then 4. 5qts, same thing, now I've got 4qts in it and it seems to be a happy medium (for me). I say for me because many have run 5qts with no leakage. I'm also trying out 15w40 Delvac and it seems to do fine.
