lost everything but fourth gear yesterday... has anyone dealt with Blumenthal transmission for reman getrags? their price was quite a bit lower than a shop rebuild price.

What was the price they quoted?? ... Was this for a G360 or an NV4500 for a conversion?... I am curious about Blumenthal too... I hope someone responds who has experience with one of their trannys.

the quote was for a 360. it was 1650. 00 plus shipping with 450. 00 core. considering they want a min of 2200. 00 to rebuild up here, I'm leaning toward Blumenthal.

I'm surprised you are not seriously investigating a NV4500 conversion. Its more money but I believe a better choice. You can do a forum search and get a lot of comments about other members experiences (including mine).

Just trying to help, Good Luck. :)

well as always the information you can get on the tdr! i talked to advance adapters, and then to Dan at quad 4X4 so it looks like Friday i will be picking up my NV4500 and associated parts. the reason i didn't take this route in the first place is because its getting easier to r & r the getrag than it is to justify the extra cost to my wife! i think what saved me was when i made her crawl

under the truck and run the jack handle... i had just replaced my rear main and hadn't quite got the whole under side of the truck clean:D need less to say she wasn't very happy with me or the pickup. thanks.

Good Choice

Money always makes for a hard choice but sometimess its less costly in the long run to do what is right even if a little pricier up front. I think you made a good choice and I believe Quad 4x4 has a better package.

LOL, Bruce

Hey Guys, just ordered an NV4500 from Blumenthal to do the conversion... Turns out it was only $1400 + a $450 core - thats cheaper than their G360... . So go ahead and get the heavy-duty conversion without the guilt trip and/or abuse from the wife. :D
