getrag lube

Hearing some of the getrag comments makes me wonder if the Mobile 1 synthetic 75w-90 is gonna hurt mine. Need some advice on what I should use. Thanks, Scott

I would stick with a good syntehtic 5W30. I use Amsoil but there are all types. I have 160-165K on it with no problems.

With 200,000 miles on mine (when I bought it) my Getrag was making a racket and shifting on its own accord (mostly out of gear). I changed oil in the trans to SynTech 5W30 an what a difference. It is quiet now and only sneaks out of 2nd every once in a while.

The oil oil wasn't real thick but sure stunk like gear oil - I'm sure it had been topped up with 80W90 at some point.

Definately, put in some good quality 5W30 synthetic oil or pay the price...

If you don't run a light weight oil like 5w30 you will pay its just a matter of time. Your tail shaft will thank you because it will be able to get oil.
