Well, I am glad that I finally got it all done. :D Thanks again to everyone that had a part in helping me out:cool:

I guess I'll start with everything I got done.

Rebuilt trans- Standard Transmission rebuild kit

Clutch- SBC MU0090 Rally

Rear main seal- Cummins part#3909410

Oilite bronze pilot bushing DC part#83507214

This project wasn't too hard, we didn't run into any major problems. One of the main headaches was running down all of the little parts. I'll try to give a rundown of those in case anyone needs it.

Rebuild kit-of course

synchros

pilot bushing

rear main seal-if needed

throwout bearing-came w/clutch

transmission mounts

transfer case to transmission adapter gasket- DC part#4340247

Lots'o Permatex and loctite- if so desired

And there is all kinds of little parts the manual tells you to replace, but some of it you can reuse. I reused most of mine

Idler gear thrust washers and pins

blocker ring pins-6 of them

You might need some bearing preload shims, but I didn't

I'll probably remember some more, but I'll be posting some more later, with some pics.

Something that I found out- the pressure plate bolts was too long w/ my new one. The new pressure plate was some thinner. I'll get the bolt specs when I get back to school after break.

Hope this helps someone.

I finally got the getrag album I promised up. If you have any certain something you want to see, just tell me and I'll put it in if I have it.

Should have some more info on how everything does when I get my exhaust, this sucker is loud with just the downpipe:eek:

Did anyone know about the clutch pressure plate bolts being too long? Has anyone else run into this problem, I was curious why I hadn't read about it.

Steve

That's lookin' good man. How do you like that rally clutch? I've heard it works pretty nice and the price is definately right!

Way to go, dude. :D

So far, I think it definitely holds better. My truck will go from 60-85 alot faster, the stocker must have been slipping. After I get Rip's 4" on, I will get to drive it alot more-only have about 30 miles on it now.

Steve

I swear my clutch slips a lot... oh wait... I think it's just the tires!

Well, tire anyways... damn 1 wheel drive anyways. :(

I'm gonna solve the 1wheel drive problem as soon as I get out of college and get a job= ARB. Man them thangs are expensive.

If anyone has a input shaft that is no longer usable as far as the gear, I would like to have one for a clutch installer, them plastic ones aint so hot. I guess it could be from a getrag or a NV4500 either one.

While I had everything out, I painted the crossmembers and skidplate, sure does look good. But everything is too clean now, guess I'll just have to go and get it good and dirty.

This may sound stupid, but as I WAS new to transmission and clutch work, I put the bellhousing on the engine first; big mistake. Couldn't get it in thataway, so off comes the bellhousing, then on the trans, the it goes right on to 1/8" apart. A whole lot easier. I know what to do now:rolleyes:
