Just finished putting in a New Venture 4500 in my 92, But when I started her up for a test run loud knocking noises coming from the bell housing area, so I pulled the transmission out again and ground out the bellhousing area that looked to be the culprit, put her back together again and the same noises but without the aluminum filings... ... ... ... ... any ideas as to what the cause of the knocking sound.

Sorry, can't help you with the problem. Can i ask how much that set you back? I'm considering doing it in my 90. I've heard different quotes, just trying to find an average. Also thought about just rebuilding the getrag in it. I'm trying to decide.

I believe when its all said and done it will be about $2500. with a new clutch and pressure plate, not including my labor , I'm sure it will be worth once I figure out what all this noise is about.

Did you use a aftermarket bellhousing like the one from Advanced Adapters or did you use a later model Dodge bellhousing?

I spent $1000 for a used NV4500.

The Adavance Adapter kit runs around $450. I gathered late model Dodge parts for a little less than that, but if I did it again, I would just buy the kit.

I sold my old Getrag for $400, so my net cost was around $1000.
