Thanks guys,

I looked up the balls on Mcmaster.com, but I have to wait till tomorrow to measure them.

I was pretty busy yesterday, got the bellhousing, clutch, and flywheel off. Had the flywheel resurfaced today. Everything looks pretty good for 217,000. But the throwout bearing is shot:eek: The pressure plate had some pretty good grooves, flywheel was OK. I found out that some of my oil leaks was the rear main seal. Guess I'll put one of those in, my instructor said there was no hurry to get my truck done, to take it slow so we wouldn't mess anything up.

I usually wind 3rd out pretty far. Maybe not enough?

Thanks, Steve

detent ball

I got em. It will be at least two days before I can get them in the mail. If you have another source that is quicker, that might be best. They are just steel balls like bearings. Measure them and if available, get three new ones. I lucked up and found the ones in my first overhaul. Them little boogers will jump like fleas when they get the chance. You might find it if you sweep the shop and go through the pile with a magnet. Probably find it after you get new ones.

Let me know and I will watch the post here.

Hey... . not bad for an "old guy" eh?

Man, I guess that didn't sound right did it:rolleyes: You need to keep your mind out of the gutter. In my defense, I was in a hurry!

Detent Ball That sounds like better terminology.

Hey James, Let me measure THE DETENT BALLS tomorrow and see what size they are, then I'll see if Mcmaster has them. If not, I'll get back to ya.

Got my clutch today, very nice stuff. still can't decide whether to use the needle bearing, or an oilite bronze pilot bushing.

All the ladies usually keep to themselves on the lower campus, I guess we are too greasy for them:confused: But, like my instructor says; Grease=Money:D
