Getreg Rebuild

Has anyone had any experience with trans shops to rebuild Getrag in Mid Atlantic area?

There have been recent discussions about the GETRAG under CUMMINS Conversions(see: https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/showthread.php?postid=305993#post305993.



I have not seen anyone say anything good about the GETRAG. I just burned one up so I'm not happy with it either. . I was stuck out in midwest bygosh and didn't have time for options so I purchased a rebuilt GETRAG from a dealer (at some scary price). :{



You might want to research upgrading to a better transmission (e. g. - NV4500).

Getrag rebuild

Does any body read the question or does everone just go off on a joy ride . The question was about experiences with repair shops in the middle atlantic area , very simple.

The replys were simple.

If you do some searching, the only guys worth talking to are Standard Transmission. Even here in Canada, they are the best contact for parts, service can be done by a monkey for a standard install.



FWIW search the thousands of posts on this topic.

Standard Trans will fix you up better and cheaper than anyone else even with the freight. I ought to know I have been through 2 NV4500's and 3-Getrashes. It has taken me awhile to smarten up to the fact that Standard Trans has their **** together when it comes to these trans.
