Went to the tire shop here in town, as my 17s look like drag slicks.

I asked about 19. 5s, and they had a guy just back out of a deal, resulting in a custom ordered set of rims and tires with a big chuck already paid.

Am getting installed, mounted, balanced, etc out the door:

Don Dualie front & rears with steel insides

http://www.mhtwheels.com/wheel.cfm?brand=7&cat=87

and Hankook AH11 225/70/19. 5

http://www.hankooktireusa.com/product/tire_list.asp?id=tbr&t_img=truckandbus1

for $2,995 out the door :D

Will be ready Wednesday.

Seeing as I was looking at least that for Rickson's I am pretty happy Oo.

I found this deal here that I'm getting with my tax return... http://www.4wheelonline.com/Products.aspx?CategoryId=29010&ProductId=65600

That's not a good deal compared to this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Amer...006QQitemZ160000646781QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWD1V

However do you research. The American Force wheels are only 6" wide which means running 225's only and not the typically more desirable 245 or 265's depending on tire selection. Load ratings are also down on the American Force wheels, but they are alot cheaper

Personally I like the Brentz Wheels myself

that's with no tires though. :( Yeah, those are nice looking rims and tires and the 245's are a lot better... :-laf

Got news for you, check out your link. I bet thats not with tires, it says "when paired with 245/70R19. 5 blah blah" not that they are included. No way you're getting 6- 245/70/19's included at that price even with the American Force's. The tires alone are over $1800 for average and up to $2400 for some of the Michelins. But no tire manufacturer will recommend running a 245 on a 6" wide wheel including American Force.

I thought the same thing and called them and their paired with 245 Hankook's. When I say called, I mean called the place they get the tires and rims from in Florida and to verify there not re-treds...

ooops sorry, you're right... little asterisk at the bottom indicating with tires. That's almost too cheap to be true. But again,. the American Force wheels are cast I believe instead of forged and are 6" wide and shouldnt be running a 245 series tire, but it will work.

Size and price aren't everything, quality counts too. The tire/wheel place near me rejects a lot of tires because they won't balance to their spec.

Rejected tires

Robmints is correct. Rickson says they keep only one out of every 12 tires they get from Hankook because the others have more than one flat spot. The rejects go back to Hankook. Where they go from there, who knows???? But I'll bet it's to some other dealer who will sell them.

It was worth it to me to spend $2700 with a company I trust to get 4 19. 5" steel wheels and a set of DH01 245 Hankooks matched to the wheel. I don't like the "sing" these tires make but I sure like the way they handle.

Finally, I've always found that I am usually sorry if I buy based on price alone. Kinda like that astronaut who, just before his shuttle left the ground, remembered that it was made up of tens of thousands of parts bought at the lowest possible bid. Not the most comforting feeling in the world.

So finally got the rims and skids on.

Story:

On Wednesday, I bring in the truck, and go with the wife to take care of some other business with her (she was getting a new to her Murano). While sitting in the financial officer's office at the dealer, I get the call:

"This is Marco at Tire blah blah. I have good news and have bad news. " Uh huh ok let's here it.

"Well the rims and tires look SIIICKK. But we got the wrong lug nuts. Blah blah Chevy blah blah. "

I knew they would screw it up. I told them it was a hub-centric setup with different lugs. But, what the hell do I know, I am just a civilian.

So I go back to the shop, and they show me what I knew was right: wrong lugs, wrong shoulder, blah blah. Then, as I walk out, I almost get to the truck in the parking lot, and the guy runs out to tell me "We broke your mirror... . Ordered another one blah blah"..... WTF guys?

On the way home that night I call back there to talk to Marco and tell him to make sure to get the mirror insert for the heated, power flip-out tow mirrors..... He is with a customer, and I will give him the message. Alrighty.

So Friday I get the call that the lugs and mirror are in. But, I am 250 miles away. Monday, I have the wife drop off the truck at 3:30 and I take her ride to work. I go to meet her there at 5:00 and the truck STILL isn't done  How long does it take to mount 6 tires that are already on the rim? So we go to get some dinner, and come back at 6:45. Truck is in the parking lot, and the rims are mounted

Go in, get the keys, and walk out. Get in the truck, and immediately see that the mirror is still busted  So I hustle back in there ready to smack someone.

"You like the rimz man?"

"Sure. The mirror... "

"Yeah, they sent us the wrong one. I went by the VIN and everything... "

"So you didn't get my message about the mirrors?"

"No"

So now I have some kickass tires and rims, but have a bitter taste in my mouth over the level of stupidity here.

Plus, I specifically told them that I wanted extended valve stems to be able to air up the inner duallies. And, there is nothing there. I have to go back today anyways for my first retorque, so I will have a chat then.

But, they do look sick :D And the speedo is more correct then the 17s on it were. There is a little shimmy, but I think I have an inner drag link that is going.
