I was wondering if anyone has used the Predator module by DR. Performance? A friend of mine is seeing a jump in MPG. But he has a 3rd gen and mine is a second. I wonder if my stock transmission will hold up to a module. Also can anyone suggest a good intake system. Things I have done recently are boost, transmission temp, EGT gauges, a Silverline 4 inch turbo back exhaust, and changed fluids over to Amsoil. Any info or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

I see you added all the gauges, exept maybe the most important - the fuel pressure gauge. It looks you are on your second VP-44. And you have the intank lift pump- not exactly the most desireable set up. Watch the fuel pressure even more closely with that pump, pressures with it seem lower than normal. I would be careful adding a box if I can't supply enough fuel with the intank pump.

Just some thing to think about before you make your decision.

A box will give a small mpg gain, injectors might as well, depends on if you can hold your power to near the same level, or if you will end up flooring it everywhere.

I would do a box first.

Being that you want mileage and you’re worried about your transmission, I would recommend the Quad Max Mileage. They claim an 8-12% gain, most have seen higher, they do see around a 25hp gain as a result of the programming/added timing. A mild set of injectors will also help out, those two are typically the biggest gains in the mileage world. Bosch 275’s can be had cheap and help, but a custom set usually do better.

I’m a fan of Volant Intakes and their prices aren’t too bad. See the link. Volant Cool Air Intakes

BTW, Van Aaken went belly up.
