Getting close to replace the batteries

I was wondering why they aren’t made with a silver Mylar outer skin to reflect more heat.

Gold Mylar would be best as NASA uses it on spacecraft, but it seems to be unobtainium.

the layer of 24k gold would be so thin cost shouldn’t be prohibitive.

it could be sewn together to become a blanket “skin” over the factory blankets.
Add some spray adhesive to the inside and voila!!

Did I just come up with a sellable product??

I used https://www.thermotec.com/products/category/battery-heat-shield on my 08 to provide shielding of the passenger battery from the ATS7500 on the compounds. I will probably switch over to them on the 18 when the OEM blankets get nasty. (BTW: also did a turbo blanket to reduced radiated heat from the turbo.)
