Hey guys - you read on here all the time about Cummins making a special tool for this and that and I've always wondered if they can be ordered just like any other part.
I'm getting ready to swap cams and valve springs, and I've learned that Cummins makes a tool to support the lifters during cam removal/installation, and there's also a tool that will let you swap valve springs without pulling the head - now that's pretty cool!
So I know that I'll need the tool for the valve springs, but I may just go with the dowel rod method for supporting the lifters - either way, I'll have to get in touch with Cummins.
So can I just call up the parts department and tell them what I need? Or are they gonna have to hunt for these things? I wasn't sure if just anyone could buy them.
How would I find out all the special tools that are available for this engine? I'm curious to know what else they have.
Thanks!
