I've posted in "911", but will try here too... . Ive got the lines off, but am not sure about getting the injectors out of the head (have 370's to go in!) I assume they are threaded into the head and I'll need a 24mm deep socket. Help me out guys... I am stuck until I get this thing back together. Thanks!

Well, sort of.

Unthread the one part,(15/16) then they "pop" out. They have a little ball on the side.

Piers sells an awesome puller, but if you are careful, screw the injecter line back on a few threads and bar them out catching the lip of the line nut.

CAREFULLY!

Dont wiggle them too much. There is an index ball built into them, and you could possibly wedge them!!

I used the vise grips. I got a good firm grip on them, then used a pry bar to pry them out using the exh manifold. Figured I couldnt hurt that.

I dunno. Everybody says how easy theirs came out, I worked on it for 4 hours. Luckily the ones in the back(PITA to get to) came out the easiest.

The only threaded part is the nut you could see from the outside. Nothing internally is threaded, it's just a straight pull.

You should see this on the 370's.

PS I never-seized mine when I put them in.

I've replaced about three sets of injectors. When one of mine stick, I take the bolt that came out of the return line and screw it back into the injector. I hate to use the word pry here because I can see someone breaking off the bolt, but I apply some pressure with a big screwdriver and tap the injector just enough to wiggle it. They always pop out.

Naturally, don't hurt the threads in any way. A jolt usually breaks them free, not brute force!

Hey BC, take the 370 to your local hardware store. Thread a nut on the top and buy 2nuts and long bolt. Jam the two nuts to make your own puller. Use anything heavy to use as a slider to go up and down the bolt. Just tap the slider a couple times and it will come loose. If the whole injector wants to turn in the bore, hole the flats of the injector with a cresant wrench and turn slowly with a 24mm cut off box end wrench. Do not allow the injector body to turn in the bore as the ball will damage the head!!!!!!! Patience is the key here. Good luck, Tim:) :) :)

I couldn't find the 14 X 1. 5 mm nut at Home Depot, Ace or True Value. Ended up going to Hawaii Nut and Bolts. (that's all they sell) I used a 3/4 drive bud socket for my slide weight. Nice and heavy. Injectors came out with just a few taps of the slide weight.

Fellas, since I have a 96 motor setting in the corner and wanted to look at the injector, i welded a nut on the end of my bolt and now the puller fits the first and second gen engines. Just thought I'd share that. Tim:) :) :)
