Well I am almost finished with the repairs from the KDP incident.

New timing case installed and all accessories replaced. :p

new TST #6 plate Oo.

Three clicks on the stock gov. springs. Oo.

installed new 60 lb exhaust springs Oo.

pulled all the stock injectors for inspection and cleaned them up :D

I do however have a couple questons:

1 - If I put this thing together using just the timing pins for the cam and the inj. pump making everything TDC, will the truck start and run, be Driveable?

I have no way to set the advance in the inj. pump yet. would like to set it at 15. 5* adv. soon as I find a timing set. anybody want to share theirs? :)

2 - when I pulled the injectors I noticed the inj. on #6 cylinder had no spacer on the bottom like the other 5 injs. did. I know I did not drop it as I was watching for them to come out. Also all the retaining nuts for the injs. I removed with my hand this is not normal I am assunming. why would this be ?

Anyone have any ideas.

190,000 miles perhaps.

3 - I slid the #6 plate and the AFC housing all the way forward. Is this ok or should I set it according to the template supplied with the kit?

Also adjusted the gov arm to just above the bottom of the plate profile -

correct?

Anything else I should address while it is apart?

Thanks,

Dan.

1- Yes your truck should start fine and drive down the road.

2-All the injectors should have copper washers on the bottom.

If the injectors have ever been out, for service or an upgrade they sure didnt tighten them down enough. 44 ft lbs I believe is the proper spec.

Thats probably where your missing washer came into play also. Make sure it isnt stuck in the bottom of the injector bore. use a mirror to check if you have to.

I assume you bought the truck used?

3- Its OK, but I dont know how long your stock transmission is going to like it.

While you have the vac pump and PS pump off, Id spend the money on the rebuild kit and take care of it because if it aint leakin now it probably will soon!
