Getting truck flashed with TSB 18-027-03 should i let dealer do

I am getting truck flashed with TSB 18-027-03 should i let dealer do this flash????



This is the TSB titled No throttle response, lack of power while towing



My issue is lack ow power while towing. Truck towes like total poopo towing a 6500# trailer, now after the edgee box on setting 3 the truck towes grate!!!



What are the pro's & con's for the above mentioned TSB

well ive heard after the re-flash some people mpg went down. . Hopefully someone thats had there truck reflashed will chime in here.

If i only loose a mile or two after the reflash but gain a big O'L Tourq gain i will be happy. Stock the truck will not do over 70 pulling 7000 pounds. Withj the edge box on setting two or three i have all the passing power i need to hit 98 + MPH.

how do you know if you need your truck reflashed? did you engine light come on... Mine seems to be sluggish lately. and i just change the fuel filter and oil... im wondering if i might need a reflash>?

Dealer can input your VIN and it will list any applicable TSBs.

computer reflash

The service guys at Woodhouse said a reflash of the computer would override or wipe out any performance chip. This info was given to a bunch of guys attending a dealer sponsored Turbo Diesel Clinic. They are not against chips and recommended informing them if one was installed in your truck before reflashing.

The only programming it will bother is the kind that is downloaded from an aftermarket loader. A separate fueling box will not be affected because it has to be unplugged from your diagnostic port so the dealer can down load his S/W rev.
