Here's something to chew on - Last night while making sure my baby was snug (locked) in her bed - I heard a number of clicks from outside the driver's door - it sounded like the door lock solenoid was getting spikes from something - enough to move the activating shaft in the solenoid but not enough to change the door lock push button position. The door was open while it was raining last week and I wonder if water has gotten into the door lock switch on the inside of the door #ad

Do you have the remote lock option. I've locked and unlocked doors by leaning against the remote in my pocket I've also hit the panic button and scared mysely silly!!!

Yes I do but - I made sure that the thing was in my hand - without any fingers near the buttons. At first I thought it was the ham operator across the street until it happened while I was driving to work. I've even walked outside, from work, while my keys (and the remote thingee) were in my desk and it still happened. You're sure right about the panic button - It will take a couple of years off of you won't it #ad

Max,

Check to see if your truck falls under this TSB. You will have to check your VIN number & build date. This has happened to another guy too that had keyless entry.

RAM TRUCKS BUILT AT THE WARREN TRUCK ASSEMBLY PLANT (11TH POSITION OF VIN = "S") ON OR BEFORE SEPTEMBER 8,2000 (MDH 0908XX).

RAM TRUCKS BUILT AT THE ST. LOUIS NORTH ASSEMBLY PLANT (11TH POSITION OF VIN = "J") ON OR BEFORE AUGUST 21, 2000 (MDH 0821XX).

RAM TRUCKS BUILT AT THE SALTILLO TRUCK ASSEMBLY PLANT (11TH POSITION OF VIN = "G") ON OR BEFORE AUGUST 31, 2000 (MDH 0831XX).

RAM TRUCKS BUILT AT THE LAGO ALBERTO TRUCK ASSEMBLY PLANT (11TH POSITION OF VIN = "M") ON OR BEFORE SEPTEMBER 6, 2000 (MDH 0906XX).

There is something on Fitz's page about the door locks getting goofy, lights and panic etc. I think there was a TSB about it. Second thought maybe it was just if had the Anti-theft. Certain strong RF signals could foul up one of the "magic" boxes.

I've had a couple of ghosts in my '94 ever since she was new. . Occasionally, the auto will downshift to 3rd while driving along minding my own business, and sometimes the doors will lock (I have remote keyless, too) at the most inappropriate time.

Once it locked when my son was using it (and the temp was about ten below) He had got out after starting it, to scrape the snow off and guess what? It locked him out and he was about frozen to death before he got in touch with me to come and unlock it for him. .

Even with the Ghosts, I still love my truck!!

RamRunner - I miss my truck too - I got this rental hunk of junk by pontiac - supposed to be a new grand am - I just about left it by the side of the road last night. I got locked out also - was scraping ice off the windshield and the locks decided to lock themselves - luckily I had the drivers side window down - just 'cause I'm paranoid when electronics start acting up. #ad
- after all I make my living (and support my vices) by fixing electronics that have decided to go South #ad

I had the "dancing door lock" problem with my 92' Ford Club Wagon. It was intermittent for the longest time. When other people would hit their remote control, my locks would open/close as well. There was some kind of module that the dealer eventually replaced to the tune of about $500.
