On my 05, i have a flicker of the high beam indicator light in my dash when driveing in the dark with the lights on low beam. It is not a full voltage flicker as if i had the high beams on, just a very light flicker. There is some kind of voltage bleed to that circuit i think?

There was a thread about this a year or 2 ago. But no body had any answers to what it was. I believe it is on 05's only, there were some other people reporting this back then. I have not taken it to the dealer becasue i don't whant my dash ripped apart for something that is not a big problem.

I am just curious, if anyboday has figured out to what it is?

Mine does the same thing. It's not a big deal but it will get your attention. I agree I don't want the dealer ripping my dash apart either.

saw the same thing in mine. I did take it to the dealer a while back and they said they'd have to tear in to the dash to find the problem. I opted against that considering all the other problems that could be caused by dealer techs tearing stuff apart that doesn't belong to them.

My '05 does the same thing and I'm not taking it to the dealer either. I'm also hoping somebody can tell us how to fix it.

Anyone else have this? I have a friend who just bought an '05 (she was totally jealous of mine) and noticed this the very first night. So I am obliged to ask one more time if anyone has any information relating to this phenomenon.

My opinion only. I've an '05, G56 and have never had a long start or code display ( fingers crossed ) and never been to any shop for anything. I noticed the ghost and I think its a figment of the ECM when it polls the light to check its presence. I've got 75K trouble free, bone jarring kidney pounding miles. By the way, when I put on my brights I have to shield my eyes from the blinding high-beam indicator. Just my opinion.

I've read other folks having bad multi-function switch in 3rd gen trucks, biggest complaint is turn signals malfunction. I know my '05 has this problem (turn sigs may not come on or actually blink left when right is selected). I'd say it's a reasonable guess that this known marginal component which also happens to control hi/lo beams is the problem. Do you ever notice turn sigs being flakey?

Had my 05 in for the same thing, the dealer said it was static causing the light to flicker. They said the only way to cure it was to remove the dash and attach a ground wire. Did not think it was to big a deal to worry abought.
