Well Guys,

Chrysler bought my truck back today and because they stepped up to the plate and did the right thing, I'll roll the bones one more time.

After more than thirty days in the shop in the first 9 months and more than 11 problems (including drive line vibration and 4 attempts to fix rear end howling) you can imagine I'm relieved to have this monkey off my back. Retaining a lawyer did'nt hurt! This truck was a nightmare!

Thank God for the ONE good dealer in SoCal I could find (Frahm), they work hard to make this truck right. Unfortunately this truck consumed too much of my life.

All that said, I wish I had a reliable 2003 and could erase this from my memory. Wish me luck on the new truck. I ordered one on 3-25 this WILL be right.

I had major problems also with my 2001. I was close enough to buying a ford the paperwork was all filled out, all I had to do was sign and it was done.

The factory rep was a wise guy who majored in arrogance, at least in the way he dealt with me. He did not even understand the difference between my 2001 and the HPCR engine. He actually stated as fact that my 2001 would run without a lift pump. Need I say more? I have not found a non-violent solution for dealing with that deadly combination of arrogance and stupidity at those levels ;);)

I also decided to give DC another chance, and so far the 2004. 5 is much improved in many respects over the 2001. Already have an issue with new truck that the dealer has not been able to fix. Waiting to hear from DC - "star" was not in last Friday when I took it in to be looked at. It is not a drive-ability issue as most of my issues were with the 2001, so I am patiently waiting for now.

Hope that you and I both have better success with our mulligan.

It's a cinch that GM and Ford aren't the ony makers who can occasionally put out a clunker - sure does make a fella gunshy - and the BIGGEST difference is whether the maker will step up to the plate and make it right! ;)

The gain or loss in customer satisfaction CAN reach a lot of folks and potential sales - sure pays the makers to do the right thing... ;)
